We received a call of a White Backed Vulture found on the side of the road in Kruger Park with a mangled left wing. Cody one of our staff members went to fetch at the Orpen Gate. Brian had just arrived back from long leave when it was brought in so he and Cody did the necessary procedures we always do when animals or birds are brought into the centre. The vulture was also very weak and dehydrated. The X-Rays taken by Dr Peter Rodgers confirmed the wing was badly broken, he then bandaged it up so the wing could try and heal. With the hours spent attending to this vultures every need we could do no more and finally had to put this beautiful creature down.
